4D scanning offers a more immersive bonding experience by showing real-time 3D images of your baby, allowing you to see movements and facial expressions, unlike 2D scans, which provide only flat, cross-sectional images mainly for diagnostic purposes. Our advanced technology not only matches the diagnostic capabilities of NHS scans but also enhances emotional connection by offering detailed and realistic views of your baby in real-time, with options to capture these moments in photos and videos.
Yes, 4D scanning is safe, using the same ultrasound technology as standard hospital scans but with advanced imaging for 3D views. We follow the ALARA principle to minimize exposure, keeping scan times short and using the safest settings. We adhere to BMUS guidelines and regularly update our procedures to ensure your safety. If you have any concerns, consult your doctor or midwife.
Our skilled Sonographers strive to get the best images, but factors like baby’s position or Mum’s BMI can make it difficult. If we can’t get a good picture, we’ll offer options like a walk, some chocolate or a drink to help. If needed, we’ll invite you back for one free rescan with our Gender and 3D/4D scans, ensuring you leave with the best possible images.
If you’re experiencing bleeding or pain, it’s crucial to contact your NHS clinical care team immediately. They can provide you with the necessary scans and access to clinicians and urgent care facilities, which are not available at our clinic.
Our scans are social, non-diagnostic scans, but we include a basic wellbeing check at every appointment. If we identify any concerns, our experienced Sonographers will refer you to your Midwife or Pregnancy Assessment Unit immediately, ensuring you leave with a plan and the necessary information.
Absolutely. We only employ fully qualified and HCPC-registered sonographers. Our sonographers have undergone extensive university training in Radiology, with a post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound, and have comprehensive knowledge of various areas of anatomy, setting us apart from some other clinics. Some have gone on study at MSc level and have certificates in advanced practice.
Yes, you can! We don’t charge for rescheduling your appointment. Simply check our real-time availability online and contact us via social media, message, online or phone to rearrange. If you need to cancel, just provide 24 hours notice and you will be refunded. The £30 deposit is non-refundable for cancellations without 24 hours notice or no shows , but any amount paid beyond that will be refunded upon request.
