An early pregnancy scan is beneficial for confirming pregnancy location and providing an accurate estimation of gestational age, which is crucial for ensuring appropriate ante-natal care and monitoring your baby’s development.
Designed to provide peace of mind during those early weeks, our Early Pregnancy Scans, offer expectant parents reassurance and helps alleviate concerns at the early stages.
Hopefully, you will be far enough along, and you will be able to see your baby’s heartbeat and it will give you an opportunity to say ‘hello!’ to your little one for the first time.
Whether you are looking to confirm a pregnancy, determine the gestational age and establish an idea of Estimated Due Date (EDD), the Baby Scantastic team can help to alleviate any worries you may be having in these early days.
From 6 – 12 weeks
At Baby Scantastic we appreciate that it can be difficult to determine how far along you are from a positive pregnancy test. With this in mind our early pregnancy package offers not one but two scans.
This enables us to do a baseline scan to establish that the pregnancy is in the correct location, and identify gestational age if possible.
We then offer a further follow-up scan to reassure our new parents that there has been appropriate development to confirm a viable ongoing pregnancy and give an estimation of gestational age.
Please drink a litre of fluid at least an hour before your appointment so that your bladder is full.
From 8-14 weeks
If you are certain, you are over 8 weeks then the dating scan will also confirm the pregnancy is in the correct location and give an estimation of gestational age. If you are less than 6 weeks and we are unable to confirm baby’s heartbeat you will be required to upgrade to the early pregnancy bundle.
